Join to explore a spectacular section of the proposed trail. We will do a brief presentation about the trail concept and a short walk to see a section of the trail. This is a great opportunity to experience what the Kern Gateway Trail can offer for our community.

About the event
Join us to learn more about the Kern Gateway Trail and to see for yourself what a beautiful and unique outdoor amenity it will create for the Kern County / San Joaquin Valley region. RSVP to get your name on the list.
This site visit will include a talk from community members working towards creating the trail. There will also be a short walk to see a portion of the trail and get exposure to its dramatic beauty.
The group will start across Highway 178 from the Upper Richbar Picnic area (35.47544786313091, -118.72442708091069). There is a pullout to park just past where Stark Creek goes under 178 if coming from Bakersfield.
If you are coming from Bakersfield and would like to carpool, please meet in the Taco Bell parking lot (next to the Shell station) on Highway 178 and Comanche Road. We will leave there at 8:30am.
